KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 (Bernama) — Hidayah Centre, an institution under the Pertubuhan Jamaah Islah Malaysia (JIM), is organising a breaking-of-fast gathering on Sept 12 to raise fund in aid of Muslim converts.
Its program director, Nasiruddin Tahir, said the centre was targeting to collect RM160,000 this year to develop a new Hidayah Centre.
More than RM128,000 was collected last year.
“The gathering is to create awareness among the public on the need to assist newcomers in Islam to build a new life,” he told reporters after announcing the programme, here today.
At the event, Hidayah Centre handed over aid collected from last year’s programme to 11 converts.
